Kelley Dewatering and Construction Company is a specialized deep well dewatering contractor headquartered in Wyoming, Michigan, with a second location in Colorado. They provide groundwater management, construction dewatering, and pre-excavation consulting for heavy infrastructure projects across the continental United States. VanDenBerg Web + Creative built them a six-page WordPress website with SEO-optimized copy, two interactive maps, and an online employment application built for the way their team actually works.

The Challenge

Kelley Dewatering has been in the ground since the 1960s. Under new ownership since 2021, the company has grown fast, with hundreds of completed projects spanning more than a dozen states. Their online presence did not reflect any of it. Contractors, municipalities, and engineering firms putting together bids had no easy way to see Kelley’s project history, understand their capabilities, or reach the right regional salesperson quickly. In an industry where response time can decide who wins the work, that mattered. The ownership team needed a website that showcased decades of field expertise, generated qualified quote requests, and routed every lead to the right person fast.

Our Solution

We wrote all six pages of copy using the StoryBrand framework, positioning the contractor (not Kelley) as the hero and groundwater as the villain threatening their timeline. Every page targets a specific keyword, from “deep well dewatering contractor” on the home page to “dewatering jobs” on the careers page, with optimized page titles, meta descriptions, and FAQ schema throughout.

Two interactive features anchor the build. The first is a Sales Territory Map on the contact page… a color-coded US map where a visitor hovers over their state and instantly sees their assigned salesperson’s name, photo, phone, and email. The ownership team flagged this as their highest priority, and for good reason. It removes every barrier between a prospect and a phone call. The second is an Interactive Project Map plotting 200+ documented projects from 2021 to 2025 across the country, turning a spreadsheet of job numbers into visible proof of experience.

The quote request form routes submissions by project location so the right regional salesperson gets the lead. The careers page includes a full online employment application, plus an FMCSA-compliant driver application for CDL roles. And because Kelley’s team manages their own job postings and featured projects, we built those sections so they can add, edit, and remove content directly in WordPress without calling us.

The Result

In the first 62 days after launch, kelleydewatering.com brought in 521 users and 595 organic search sessions with a 43.4% engagement rate. What those visitors did matters more than the traffic itself. The site produced four quote requests from contractors and municipalities looking for dewatering support.

Prospects can verify Kelley’s experience on the project map, find their regional contact in seconds, and submit a quote request that lands with the right salesperson. Job seekers can apply online. And the ownership team keeps the site current themselves without calling us.
