Journey Law, a new law firm specializing in wills, trusts, probate, and business mediation, engaged VanDenBerg Web + Creative to build a professional, client-focused online presence. We delivered a scalable WordPress Website designed to build trust and convert visitors into client consultations. The project included a mobile-first design, comprehensive on-page SEO, and full implementation of Google Analytics and Google Search Console to ensure measurable growth from day one.

Challenge & Goals

Kris Johnson, the founder of Journey Law, was launching a new practice and needed a website that could immediately establish credibility, clearly communicate the firm’s specialized expertise, and actively drive client inquiries. The pre-launch challenge was zero discoverability and no measurement system in place. The concrete goals were to:

  • Increase qualified traffic through organic search
  • Achieve a high engagement rate and convert visitors using strong calls to action

Our Solution

Platform and information architecture

We recommended and built the new site using WordPress, known for its flexibility and scalability. The architecture was strategically structured around the firm’s core offerings. This clear structure ensures potential clients can easily navigate and find detailed information on specialized legal services.

Design and user experience

The design prioritizes a professional, trustworthy aesthetic and is fully mobile-friendly with a focus on fast load times. The site uses customized layouts and places powerful, conversion-focused Calls to Action (CTAs) on every page. Data shows that while 51.3% of traffic is from desktop, 18.4% is from mobile, validating the need for a responsive design.

Content strategy and positioning

Content was developed to communicate the range of services—from estate planning to business mediation —while highlighting a client-focused approach. Key pages include detailed outlines for each service, featuring importance, types, process steps, and common questions, positioning Journey Law as a helpful resource and expert guide. The strategy included implementing sections for Testimonials and Affiliations to quickly build credibility and trust.

Integrations, analytics, and search engine optimization

To drive organic growth, the site included SEO On-Page Basic Optimization and submitted Sitemaps to Google and Bing. For full performance tracking, Google Analytics tracking and Google Search Console tracking were set up, and a monthly Google Data Studio report was established. Custom goal tracking was implemented to monitor critical conversion events like Phone Clicks and Email Clicks.

The new WordPress website immediately established a successful digital presence, generating strong initial traffic and engagement in its first 47 days.

    • 327 Total Users were acquired in the first period, indicating a strong start to audience building.
    • The site achieved 309 Organic Search Sessions, which demonstrates immediate success in Search Engine Optimization and validates the strategy for organic growth.
    • 428 Engaged Sessions were recorded, leading to a remarkably high Engagement Rate of 87.35%, far exceeding the suggested benchmark of 63% for B2B websites. This confirms the site’s design and content are highly relevant and engaging to the target audience.
    • The site’s activity generated 973 total events, validating the thorough tracking setup for user interactions and conversions.
    • The primary traffic source, with 205 sessions, originated in Michigan, correctly targeting the firm’s primary service area.
    • Conversion tracking successfully recorded user interest with both Phone Clicks and Email Clicks, validating the effectiveness of the strong calls to action.

The site is performing exceptionally well in all major Key Performance Indicators, establishing a robust foundation for future client acquisition.
